Jr. Leaders Program
WHAT WE DO
Art
Our curriculum is designed to create interest in art in these early leaners. Artwork projects are part of the morning and afternoon curriculum. Jr. Leaders explore art through many mediums: Crayons, paints, dabbers, chalks, markers and even stickers! Introduction to multiple types of artwork sparks these toddlers to be more creative.
Writing
Jr. Leaders begin exploring writing through our curriculum. Students are exposed to their names and recognition of their names. As our Jr. Leaders begin to express themselves through art, they are introduced to writing letters. Our goal in this classroom is for the students to be able to recognize the ABS’s by age of 24 months.
Music and movements
Music and movements are vital to the success of this classroom. Jr Leaders have a natural obsession for music and movement. Teachers incorporate music and movement throughout their activity.
Math
Jr. Leaders experience math in several ways. Our curriculum introduces numbers 1 to 10. Each week, toddlers will explore the number of the week. Numbers are introduced through play; counting objects in the classroom and recognizing through out the items on the classroom wall. Numbers are also introduced during circle time.
Reading
Multiple circle times throughout the day bring reading to the forefront of learning. Expressive readings of children’s books draw the interest of young children. Also, the reading of a “naptime story” has become the basis for sweet dreams.
